The Annapolis Powerboat Show concluded Sunday, October 11, following four days that brought boaters, prospective buyers, and marine industry professionals to the waterfront for one of the season’s signature boating events. While attendance tracked slightly below last year during the first three days before persistent rain dampened Sunday’s turnout, boats were still sold, and exhibitors made valuable connections. The show also delivered engaging family activities, educational opportunities, and a gathering place for the boating community.

The show opened Thursday under clear blue skies with a ceremonial cannon firing by Annapolis Mayor Jared Littmann, setting the stage for a great first day. Throughout the event, the docks were lined with an extensive selection of new and premiering powerboats that fit a range of boating lifestyles, alongside marine equipment, accessories, and services. For exhibitors, the show provided an opportunity to reconnect with existing customers, introduce their offerings to new audiences, and help future owners take the next step toward life on the water.

“What a show!” said Ken Comerford of North Point Yacht Sales. “This year’s show has proven to be one of the best. We look forward to the many new owners that have committed to enjoying the boating lifestyle with North Point Yacht Sales. Thanks to all for making this year’s show such a success!”

Even with rain falling throughout much of Sunday, exhibitors continued to connect with serious buyers, reinforcing the show’s value as a place to explore options and make purchasing decisions. The weather also provided a boost for foul-weather gear sales, as boaters looked for ways to stay comfortable on the docks.

"We had a great show this year," said Josh White of Chesapeake Yacht Center. "Lots of activity and at least one sold boat, with a few others in the works. Even with the rain on Sunday, it was great."

The show offered plenty beyond shopping, with educational opportunities and family-friendly programming rounding out the experience. Free seminars gave boaters access to useful information on ownership and life on the water, while BoatUS provided on-water training to help participants build practical skills and confidence. Saturday was a particular highlight for families as Dockside Ducks were a smash hit with younger boating enthusiasts. The CCA Kid's Corner also kept children engaged with activities including coloring, build-a-boat projects, and casting cornhole.

With ongoing construction at City Dock, the show team adapted to the evolving waterfront conditions to deliver a seamless, well-organized event that maintained the show’s signature atmosphere. The revised layout, including the use of Susan Campbell Park, ultimately proved to be a welcome addition, with the space enthusiastically received as an inviting place to gather, connect with fellow boaters, and enjoy the waterfront throughout the show.

As the powerboats moved out, the show was followed by the Annapolis Sailboat Show, which ran October 15-18.
