The Baltimore Chapter of the Coastal Conservation Association Maryland (CCA MD) will host the first Little Havana’s Catch and Release tournament— Rocktober Cup— Saturday, October 10. Fishing will begin at 5 a.m. with check in between 2-4 p.m., and the tournament after party beginning at 2 p.m. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Blue Water Baltimore. The tournament will offer first, second, and third place prizes for the longest striped bass as well as four calcuttas. Judging will be based on photos of the catch only. First place prize is a one-week stay in the Florida Keys including airfare for two; second place will be a one week stay in Ocean City, MD, and third place prize will be an Engel Deep Blue 35 quart cooler. The four calcuttas will be longest rockfish caught by a male angler, longest rock caught by a female, largest stringer (measured by length of fish) of up to five fish caught by an individual angler, and largest stringer (measured by length of fish) caught by a team. A prize will also be awarded for a Jr. angler category (anglers under the age of 16).
