The dog days of summer can really take their toll on your boat, making that hard-to-place bilge stench a bit unbearable some days. We reviewed this product earlier in 2014, but wanted to circle back and say that it's definitely one of the better purchases we made this year, as the boat isn't suffering from some of the less pleasant odors that are so rampant during the hot summer months. From the manufacturer: "Our Bilge Shark is a patented pad embedded with beneficial microbes that are cultivated to digest oil. The pad is tied off at any convenient location in the bilge and floats on the surface of the bilge water. Oil is absorbed while the microbes (which are multiplying every 20 minutes) are continuously digesting oil at the molecular level. The result is a truly cleaner bilge.
