
PropTalk graphic designer Zach Ditmars and I were e-mailing back and forth about how smart birds can be, given their ability to travel distances up to 18,00o miles for feeding and courtship rituals.
And while I have watched all sorts of herons catch all sorts of fish on the Bay, I hadn't ever seen one use bait to tackle its quarry. That was until PropTalk reader Lew Armistead sent me the video below, which shows a green heron that has "Gone Fishin'" with a piece of white bread.
