PropTalk was lucky enough to be invited aboard the research vessel (R/V) Rachel Carson this past Wednesday by Master Michael Hulme, the ship’s captain, to see what a day in the life of one of the Bay’s most advanced research vessels is like.
We went aboard to observe a young-of-year menhaden sampling that took place at several sites long the Choptank River from Castle Haven up to the Dover Bridge, utilizing the vessel’s specialized scientific equipment, including a mid-water trawl net.
