August 12 at Chesapeake Bay Maritime Musuem

A crab feast, boat docking contest, live music and appearances by Edgar Hansen and Jake Anderson from the Discovery Channel's "Deadliest Catch" will be the highlights of the Talbot County Watermen's Association's Watermen's Appreciation Day at the Chelepeake Bay Maritime Muesuem in St. Michaels August 12. $25 dollars ($16 for kids 6-17, under six is free) will get you all the crabs you can eat. The crabs will be caught the morning of, so they will likely be the freshest you have ever eaten. Bird Dog and the Road Kings will be performing live from noon until 5 p.m. to entertain festival goers. Check out the second video below to hear Red Dogs and the Bird Kings perform their song "Somerset County." The "Watermen's Rodeo" boat docking contest between watermen will begin at noon. It will be followed by a Pot Pie Skiff rowing contest and then a small jigger-throwing contest. If your wondering, the video below shows what an Eastern Shore boat docking contest looks like. We were unable to find a videos of pot pie skiff rowing or jigger throwing so if you go, bring along a video camera and you could be the first to document what are sure to be two unique athletic pursuits. Who knows maybe if it catches on maybe an Eastern Shore watermen could win the first gold medal in Jigger Throwing at the 2028 Olympics.
