The Department of Natural Resources reported that the body of Otto Paul Lynch, 63, a Salisbury angler has been recovered by the Maryland Natural Resources Police (NRP).
Lynch went missing during a weekend bass fishing tournament. His unoccupied Ranger bass boat was found adrift Saturday by local fisherman near Snow Hill, MD and alerted authorities.
The NRP with assistance from the Maryland State Police, Snow Hill emergency personnel and the Worcester County Sheriff's office conducted sunrise-to-sunset recovery operations on Sunday and Monday. Officers used side-scan sonar and shoreline surveys to search the area he went missing.
Lynch is the second fisherman to die in Maryland waters in the past month, in September the body of James David Everett of was recovered in Hartford County.
