It's becoming a typical sight on the Baltimore skyline: coming into town via 395. you glance over the guard rail expecting to see the Chesapeake and instead see a skyscraper down below. But that isn't a skyscraper, it's a cruise ship. It's the Carnival Pride, a regular on the Baltimore to Bermuda route that calls Charm City her home.
I shouldn't have been surprised to see her on the water, then, but when I did, wow. There she was, in all her glory. The 962-foot boat boasts a passenger capacity of 2,124 with 930 onboard crew. There are 11 bars, 4 pools and 5 hot tubs, and if you haven't seen it, a humongous water slide. The boat embarks from Baltimore and has ports in Port Canaveral, Florida, Nassau, and Freeport Bahamas. Cruisers are given the choice of spending a day at Disney World as a stopover. From what we can see, reviews are mixed. We're suspending judgment on this venture because we want to hear from you: what's your take on the Carnival Pride as a regular feature on the Bay? Is this a scourge of the sea? Or a boon to the Bay? Are you signing yourself up for a cruise? And if you're a cruising regular, what's your take on your experience?
