Yes, we know ... you've just taken down the Halloween decorations. You're not ready to think about another holiday just yet. But wait! This is Rocksgiving, fall's premier rockfish tournament! Worry about stuffing the turkey later; this month is all about fishing. This year's Rocksgiving promises some great on-the-water action along with a party like no other. The classic rock band A Classic Case will headline the after party, while Devil's Backbone Brewing Co. will be pouring cold pints of their Striped Bass Pale Ale. And all of this happens after some of the best fall fishing on the Bay. So head to Chesapeake Harbour Marina on Saturday, November 15, for a great event benefiting the Bowen Foundation for Autism and the Chesapeake Bay Trust. Prizes include a $100,000 prize for any striped bass that breaks the MD state record (67.8 pounds), a $10,000 prize for the first striped bass weighing more than 55 pounds delivered to the Marina, and many other great prizes. All fish must be caught in the Maryland waters of the Chesapeake. The party kicks off on Friday, November 14, with a Captain's Happy Hour from 6 to 8 p.m., and the tourney begins at 7 a.m. sharp the next morning. Registration for one boat with four anglers is $300, and additional anglers may be added for a fee. Want more? Click rocksgiving.com
