Waking up early on Christmas morning? This year there will be more than just presents as an incentive. Early risers will be treated to a full moon that will reach full phase at 6:11 a.m. This will be the first Christmas full moon since 1977 and it won't happen again until 2034! But even if you're not an early bird, you can still catch the moon rise around sunset in the east on Christmas Eve. It will reach its highest point in the southern sky around midnight.
