Photo courtesy of the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum (CBMM) is offering a Boating Essentials Course Saturday, November 15 from 10 a.m. to noon and  Sunday, November 16 from 2 to 4 p.m. Participants will learn to read charts, understand navigational aid, plot a course, anchor properly, tie knows, and how to respond in an emergency. The course is led by a Captain Jerry Friedman, a retired electrical enginerring executive who holds a USCG 100-ton masters license. Friedman has been a licensed captain for 51 years and is the lead caption for the CBMM's 1920 buy boat Winnie Estelle. The program takes place in the museum's Dorchester house.
